I year since the splitting announcement

A year ago, we received a news that really breaks our heart but that don't give us any excuse for crying, grieving or make a hashtag about it. Please set this in your mind & heart, although they've split but they tried to cheer us all by saying a proper goodbye & a massive farewell tour that never been done by any bands before. Do not think that this date is the saddest day in our life but think of it as a day where they all have make a decision to do stuff in their own & always be proud of them.

Westlife Saved 15 Years Old Girl Life

"Westlife saved my life: Girl, 15, fights off robber with concert PROGRAMME as she's stabbed in alleyway knife attack"

  • Attack took place in Norwich after the young girl returned from Westlife concert in London
  • - Heroin user Stephen Williams was trying to mug girl and her friend
  • - The programme recovered from the scene had three knife holes in it

A terrified teenager was saved by a Westlife programme she used to shield herself when a brutal robber stabbed her up to six times on her way from a concert.

The 15-year-old was viciously struck in the chest, abdomen and wrist with a 9inch kitchen knife after she was followed into an alleyway by heroin user Stephen Williams.

The schoolgirl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was attacked late at night in Norwich after she had been to see Irish boy band Westlife, at the O2 in London on May 12.

She pulled the concert programme from her bag which helped to cushion the impact of the frenzied assault, stopping her from being more critically injured or even killed.

Westlife Call Boy-Band Breakup 'STRANGE'

With more than 45 million albums sold worldwide, 14 #1 singles in the United Kingdom and 10 studio albums, fans of Irish boy band Westlife are still in shock that, after 14 years together, the members decided last month to go their separate ways.
Yet, Westlife did not go quietly, having one of their most successful years to date. In May, they were crowned champions of MTV News' Battle of the Boy Bands. Following two weeks of intense matchups and more than 12 million votes, Westlife beat out music's most-famous boy bands to take home the coveted trophy, which is now in their possession.
"Thank you very much. We were very proud, what an amazing thing to win," Westlife member Nicky Byrne said to MTV News via Skype. "It was really really special. It's sitting proudly now in my trophy cabinet amongst a few others we were lucky enough to win."

Shane's emotional tribute to wife Gillian at Westlife's final bow out

Shane Filan's wife Gillian has spoken of her emotional night as she watched her hubbie bid farewell to Westlife after 14 years.
The mum-of-three revealed how she came full circle at Croke Park on Saturday night as she watched them go out in style with their rip-roaring gig while in the company of fellow Westwife Georgina Ahern.
"It was just amazing. I remember the first time I ever saw them perform, I was sitting beside Georgina and the pair of us were just gobsmacked and we were also with each other watching the perform for the last ever time. I still can't really believe it," she told the Diary.
Shane, who married Gillian in 2003, paid tribute to her and their three children Nicole (6), Patrick (3) and Shane (2), shortly before the gig closed on Saturday night.
